WYD 2011. Deaf pilgrims will follow the Mass at Cuatro Vientos with the largest magnetic loop installed in Spain
The airfield of Cuatro Vientos has now the largest magnetic loop installed in Spain so far, ready for the mass that Pope Benedict XVI will celebrate this Sunday during his last day of stay in Spain within the framework of the World Youth Day (WYD).
The Accessibility Support Service of Fiapas (Spanish Confederation of Families of Deaf People), with the collaboration of FUE (Fundación Universidad Empresa), installed last Thursday this magnetic loop in the area reserved for deaf pilgrims.Fiapas stressed that this is the loop of greater length and area adapted (almost 3,000 square meters) ever installed in Spain.
On the other hand, Fiapas pointed out that yesterday afternoon's mass at the Cibeles Square was subtitled in English and Spanish and that the messages of young people to the Pope were translated into Spanish, allowing hearing people, who were close to the area where this adapted area was located, to access all the contents of the event.
